CERT : Computer Emergency Response Team
Cert is an organization located at Carnegie Mellon University. Their mission is to develop the protocols and increase safety of computer technologies.
Cert has reported the following statistics. In 2000 alone, losses due to security breaches were estimated at U.S. $12 billion annually. In the first two quarters of 2002, 43,136 incidents were reported, and 2,148 specific vulnerabilities were listed.
