Hand Penetrating Computer for Domain ComputerSecurity.cc

Anti Virus Programs

Anti virus programs give you a false sense of security and take up a whole lot of resources on your computer. They do help stop major known threats and are good to use. Just don't think you are safe just because you have a program installed.

The truth is that just about any hacker can get through Mcafee, Norton, or AVG.  There are many programs out there designed to operate below the operating system.  The nature of their design doesn’t allow a virus program to stop them.

The other big factor is that the anti virus company must know about the virus to stop it.  The truth is that someone can just tweak a Trojan, virus, or worm a little and it will be unknown to the world.

Most attackers aren’t intent on getting a name for themselves and spreading around the world.  The goal for them is to remain anonymous and get your data.  With that in mind, do you really think you are safe.

Virus Writers

According to Jon Montgomery of Network Strategies, anti virus software manufacturers pay people to write malware.  They can then get the “antidote” and be the best software out there.  Their goal is to make money first and your security comes second. You should keep that in mind.

AVG

Most computer professionals prefer AVG over Norton and Mcafee.  I have used all of them and I can say I do like AVG the best.  So far, although, it hasn’t found anything except to delete cookies.
