Hand Penetrating Computer for Domain ComputerSecurity.cc

Cookie Trackers – Get Rid of Them

Did you know that everything you do online is tracked by various people?  For example, your internet service producer tracks you, nearly every web page out there has a tracker on it that reports back to the owner, and other unscrupulous people track you with Trojans and keyloggers.

Cookies are “baked” with the programming language Javascript.  However, there are many other ways to bake the cookies.

Cookies store information like passwords and where you have been on the internet.  That is why it is important to remove the cookies.  In Firefox, simply click on tools, options, clear private data, and make sure the cookies tab is checked. In Firefox, you can also block cookies by going to tools, options, privacy, and clicking on the cookie checkmark.

In Explorer, go to tools, internet options, advanced and you can block cookies.  To clear cookies, go to tools, internet options, and clear cookies.

Bad Cookies

A bad cookie chef can make cookies that don’t expire or that do malicious things to your computer.  Therefore, you should avoid cookies and delete them as soon as possible.  In fact, delete them every time you go online.  Some cookies stay on too long and report back on your internet activity to send you more junk.

For the best security completely block all cookies and only enable them when totally necessary.  For example, some web sites will block you without allowing cookie tracing.  In other words, they are saying that unless they can track you they don’t want you.
