Third Party Logging
Native loggers within your security system framework are good beginning sources to look to. However, there are third party loggers that are more detailed and do a better job of analysis based on benchmarks. Two of these third party loggers are WebTrends and Enterprise Reporting Server (operating system add on).
Managed Logging – The Best, But Costly
Companies like IBM and Symantec offer third party managed logging services. That means that a crew of people that know security will manage your network. It is the obviously best choice, but by far the most costly. Cheaper plans for third party logging start at around $700.00 per month.
