Root Kits
The root kit goes to the base of the operating system. It goes to the files that the operating system needs to run and startup with. You can use a good anti spyware program and catch some of these. The problem is that the root kit is self replicating. As soon as you delete it, it programs a new file name. You can’t get rid of something that replicates each time you delete it. In this case, you will often have to reformat the entire hard drive.
