TripWire (tripwire.com)

TripWire makes a database of all your files and then sends you an email to let you know of any changes that are made.  It will make scans at intervals you suggest to look for any changes and then notify you.

Dummy Information

Dummy information is also called a trip wire.  It is used as bait for hackers.  These files are scripted and will alert the administrator that the file has been accessed.  One example of a dummy file is to have a fake password file setup.
