Hand Penetrating Computer for Domain ComputerSecurity.cc

Types of Hackers

Hackers fall into approximately three different types of groups.  It is often thought that a hacker is a young male with something to prove to the world.  When, in fact, hackers of today are diverse and have many different motivations.

Teeny Boppers

This is the younger teenager generation.  They want to hack just to show that they can accomplish something.  It’s more about self esteem than anything else.  These hackers will typically go away if it becomes difficult.  Proper security protocol will usually scare them away.

Disgruntled People

It could be a fired employee or just someone that hates your company because it doesn’t recycle.  Some angry people are very determined to get your information and compromise it.  These are the people that find a way in through other employees or sift through the trash.  If they keep at it long enough, they will usually find a way in.  Their main motivation is to get even.

Corporate Espionage

You are dealing with a professional that probably has unlimited resources.  They could be funded by the Mafia or even foreign governments.  Their targets are highly specific.  They will stop at nothing to get your information.  Their main motivation is financial gain.  If you are targeted by someone like this, your chances are not good at all.  You can contact the FBI, but they will probably do nothing to stop it unless you have some great proof for them.
